Halloween Kickoff!

Today we kicked off the 2018-2019 season here at Mission Bell Tradewinds.  150 of us gathered in the Tradewinds ballroom for a resident costume contest & lunch.  James & Trina, our Activity Directors led the celebration.  Several wore Halloween accessories and/or shirts but there were four brave souls who entered the contest!  Mo Haydeen, a mummy won first place.  Dave Balderson, the Grim Reaper, won second place.  Sally Balderson, a voodoo princess, won third place.  Lunch was served by Neva Thompson, several workampers and volunteers.  Pulled pork sandwiches, a pasta salad, beans & dessert were very good.  Thank you to everyone who helped.  We are off and running into a new winter season at Mission Bell Tradewinds Resort!

Mother’s Day

We all gathered on Sunday, May 13, to celebrate Mother’s.  Some of the men volunteered to serve cake, fruit & punch to the ladies present.  A big thank you to our servers Dave Balderson, Jim Mathews, Dale Back & Arlie Stolle. Scot read funny comments regarding Mother’s and the big day.  We had prizes also!  Mary Lou Stolle won a miniature rose bush for raising not only her children but grandchildren too!  Marie Woods won a miniature rose bush for spending the most days in the hospital for the birth of a child – 10 days!  Finally, Shirley Maxon won a Calgone Lotion set for having the most kids….9!  We all had a great time and everyone left with a bag of candy – chocolate included, of course!
