Many of our residents enjoy golfing. Each week, there are at least two opportunities to sign up. Our golfers go to many of the different courses in the valley and tee times vary!
Many of our residents bring their two and three wheel rides to the Valley. At least once a week, a group will get together & ride for an afternoon, checking out the sites in the Rio Grande Valley.
Our bicycle club gathers every Saturday morning to ride, several miles, in the surrounding areas. The group is known to meet somewhere for breakfast or lunch & even to travel to & ride South Padre Island.
Each week many of our residents gather at the loyal bowling alley, a mile from the Resort, to compete to see who can get a “Five Bagger” or even better an “All The Way”!
A very popular game, many residents meet several times a week to compete in shuffle board. Don’t let this laid back game fool you, they play for keeps!
The billiards are very busy rooms in the Resort. Couples, men, women, teams etc gather each week to play. Some of our folks even participate in tournaments held in surrounding RV parks.
The Resort has Bocci Ball courts on the west side. Bocci Ball is very popular with our residents as they often get together to laugh & knock one another out of the running.
Many gather to make mattess for the poor in Mexcio. The mattresses are sown together out of material & then stuffed with plastic grocery bags (yes, like the kind from Wal-Mart).
A group of ladies meet 4 times a week to put together quilts on the West side of the Resort. The quilts are made and donated to the poor in Mexico, American Veterans and others who are in need. The ladies have lovingly referred to their time as hours in the “sweat shop”!
TOYS FOR TOTS
Toys, toys toys!! A large group of women make simple stuffed animals to be given to children who are in the local hospital. The group raises money by recycling aluminum cans & selling ice cream treats at entertainment shows.
